Trump: 'We're Going to Take the Country Back'
Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump told thousands of cheering supporters in Arizona Saturday that "we have to take back the heart of our country."
In a 70-minute speech at a packed Phoenix Convention Center, Trump touched on a wide variety of topics, including national security, foreign policy, his fellow GOP candidates and illegal immigration.
"The silent majority is back, and we’re going to take the country back," Trump promised. "We're going to make America great again."
Trump vowed to fine Mexico $100,000 for every person crossing into the U.S. illegally, pledged to tax American-owned businesses that ship jobs overseas and boasted that he could destroy ISIS "so fast."
Trump also slammed some of his critics and GOP rivals, particularly Jeb Bush.
"How can I be tied with this guy? He’s terrible," Trump said of the former Florida governor. "Jeb Bush? I don't get it."
Trump also doubled down on his controversial comments about Mexico and illegal immigration.
"I love the Mexican people ... I respect Mexico," Trump said. "But the problem we have is that their leaders are much sharper, smarter and more cunning than our leaders, and they’re killing us at the border."
"Don't worry, we'll take our country back."
