Artist: Starbucks Ripped Off My Work to Use on Frappuccino Cups
A New York artist is seeking $750,000 in a lawsuit against Starbucks, accusing the coffee giant of ripping off her designs to use in an ad campaign.
Maya Hayuk, who has worked with other companies in the past, was in talks with Starbucks' ad agency on a deal to use her work, the New York Post reported.
Eventually, she turned the project down, but her lawsuit claims Starbucks still went ahead with designs that look "strikingly similar."
Hayuk's lawyer says Starbucks used the designs on plastic Mini Frappuccino cups. He alleges the company copied this mural.

Hayuk is seeking financial compensation for copyright infringement and other unspecified damages.
Starbucks said it is aware of the legal action and is investigating.
