A manhunt is underway in New York City for an attempted murder suspect who escaped police custody.

Tarek Arnold, 23, was being walked out to a police cruiser in handcuffs when he shoved an officer and bolted down a Harlem street.

Officers evacuated residents of a nearby high-rise apartment building during the search for Arnold, who has six prior arrests.

Fox 5 reported:

Arnold was wearing grey sneakers, grey sweatpants and white sneakers. He has tattoos that say 'troll' and 'militant soldiers.'
