The head coach of University of Toledo’s football team will no longer lead his players in prayer.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation sent a letter to the school back in May, claiming that Rockets coach Matt Campbell had violated students’ First Amendment rights by leading the team in prayer.

The complaint came after a YouTube video surfaced, which shows Campbell reciting a prayer back in 2012 before a game against Bowling Green.

“To ensure UT football continues to bring people together, players will determine on their own any personal preparation methods to help them mentally prepare to play the game we love,” Campbell said in a statement.

The Blade reported that Campbell has been head coach at UT since 2011 and signed an extension through 2020.
