A Florida boy is recovering after he was attacked by a shark at Cocoa Beach.

The unnamed boy, who is about 10 years old, was wading in waist-high water with his mother on Sunday when a shark bit his right calf.

The little boy was airlifted to a trauma hospital in Orlando.

Eisen Witcher, of the Brevard County Fire Rescue, called the attack “one of the worst ones that we’ve seen out here in recent years.”

Witcher thinks that the boy was attacked by a juvenile bull shark.

The little boy remains hospitalized.
