Chris Christie Named MVP at Softball Game to Honor Slain NYPD Cops
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was named MVP at the True Blue softball game that was held yesterday to honor three slain NYPD officers.
The star-studded game at Yankee Stadium was held to honor Brian Moore, Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, who were killed in the line of duty over the last several months.
Christie wasn’t the only big name at the event. The game was hosted by radio hosts Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton. Yankees manager Joe Torre and former center fielder Bernie Williams participated, as did Jets head coach Todd Bowles and ex-Mets pitcher Dwight Gooden, to name a few.
Proceeds from the game will go to the Silver Shield Foundation, NYC PBA Widows' and Children's Fund, and the three slain officers’ families.
