Krauthammer Mocks Lincoln Chafee's Plan for U.S. to Adopt Metric System
On "Special Report" tonight, Charles Krauthammer reacted to former Rhode Island governor and former Republican Lincoln Chafee joining the Democratic presidential field.
When announcing his candidacy today at George Mason University, Chafee made a unique proposal: Have the U.S. adopt the metric system.
"Let's join the rest of the world and go metric," Chafee said. "I happened to live in Canada, and they completed the process. Believe me, it's easy. It doesn't take long before 34 degrees is high. Only Myanmar, Liberia and the United States aren't metric. And it will help our economy."
"The passion of that statement is really rather overwhelming," Krauthammer joked. "And this is a country crying out to go kilogram. You can hear it everywhere you go. They want to go metric. And this is one of the major issues of our time."
"When Hillary has only three challengers and he's one of them, you know this nomination race is a farce. She has the nomination, barring an act of God."
