As her new book on immigration hits the shelves, Ann Coulter talked to Sean Hannity about the worsening problem and why it's not being stopped.

Coulter to Megyn Kelly: We Need a 10-Year Immigration Ban

She explained that most of her book is about legal immigration, and the lack of scrutiny of immigrants who are allowed to come to America by the government.

That is in addition to the chaos at the southern border, a combination that Coulter says is transforming America.

"Never has a country been transformed like this. Never in world history. And it is being done as an express plan by the left because they want voters more favorable to liberal policies," she said.

Coulter said it's striking how many activist groups are working "overtime" to help the "poorest of the poor" come to America.

"They're always the people who don't particularly like America. They call us racist, sexist, homophobic, why are they bringing these poor third-worlders here? It's because they want to transform America because they hate America. And Republicans aren't stopping them because the big donors want the cheap labor," said Coulter.

She emphasized that while researching the book, it was shocking to learn about the lack of scrutiny in the immigration process.

Coulter said she became extremely frustrated while she tried to obtain statistics on how many foreign-born are in U.S. prisons and what crimes they've committed.

Originally, the book was only supposed to have a few chapters on immigration, but as she uncovered more and more eye-opening information, Coulter said she had to change course.

"It's one thing for the government to miss criminals who are running across the border. That's bad enough. How about the ones that the government looked over and said, 'you'll make a fine addition to this country?' Then they blow up the Boston Marathon," said Coulter, adding that the poor are being brought into America and "instantly" receive welfare benefits.

Hannity asked Coulter about the expected criticism from the left, including potentially being labeled "racist."

"They prefer not to debate me at all, but if they have to, they'll call me a racist," she said.
