Calif. Prostitute Pleads Guilty in Google Exec's Fatal Heroin Overdose
A California prostitute pleaded guilty to the involuntary manslaughter of a Google executive who fatally overdosed on heroin back in 2013.
Santa Cruz police say surveillance video shows that Alix Tichelman injected Forrest Timothy Hayes with heroin while on his luxury yacht, calmly packed up her belongings, and stepped over Hayes’ body to finish her glass of wine.
The video, which was shot from the cabin of the yacht, reportedly convinced Tichelman to accept a plea deal rather than chance her luck in a jury trial.
Tichelman’s attorney called Hayes’ death an accidental overdose between two consenting adults.
“It takes two to tango here,” defense attorney Larry Biggam said.
Tichelman was sentenced to six years as part of the plea deal. Due to time served, she is likely to be out in two years.
