Dr. Phil McGraw joined Megyn Kelly to talk about a number of topics, including why he thinks America has become too sensitive.

And Megyn revealed something she heard from Dr. Phil that eventually became her philosophy in life.

She recalled to Dr. Phil that she once heard him say, "The only difference between you and someone you envy is that you settle for less."

She told Dr. Phil that it made her realize she should settle for more in her life.

"That means a lot that I've had that impact on you," he told her. "I take that as a great compliment, because you've done so much with that."

He explained that he thinks people make choices that determine who they become in life.

"There are moments in life, where all things wrong can be made right," he said.

They also discussed the way Americans are raising their children nowadays.

"We're going to raise a generation where they're going to try and please everybody," he stated. "You can't please everybody. Somebody is going to have a problem with whatever you do...You might as well just do what you want to do anyway."

Dr. Phil pointed out that some people have a problem with what he does every day on his hit TV show.

"I have two attitudes about that," he explained. "Number one, I am not one of those people that needs to be loved by strangers. Number two, you've got a remote control."

He said that it would be great if everybody loved him, but "the haters are going to hate, and the lovers are going to love."
