A tractor-trailer stuck in mud received some help from the most surprising source, elephants.

An 18-wheeler was transporting three elephants from New Orleans to Dallas when it got stuck on the muddy shoulder of Interstate 49 about halfway through its trip on Tuesday.

When the deputies from the Natchitoches (NAK-uh-tesh) Parish Sheriff's Office arrived on scene, they were shocked to see that two elephants were actually propping the truck up.

The driver led two of the Pachyderms onto the slope between the truck and ditch to help assist in keeping the big rig from tipping over.

Authorities did not say who owns the elephants or the tractor-trailer, the Associated Press reported.

The driver was not cited and a wrecker eventually pulled the rig out of the mud.
