How can you survive an emergency landing? Capt. Tom Bunn offered tips to the hosts of “Fox and Friends” this morning.

Bunn said passengers should count the seats between the emergency exits in front of them and behind them. That way, they’ll know where two exits are if smoke or loss of light impacts vision.

The former Air Force pilot and commercial pilot said passengers should buckle their seatbelts upon impact and protect their heads. They should then wait to hear what the flight crew says.

While exiting, Bunn advised that passengers keep their heads mid-level and count seat backs until arriving at an exit.

Yesterday, 127 passengers and five crew members were aboard Delta flight 1086 when it skidded off the runway at LaGuardia Airport. No one was seriously hurt.
