There are new reports of smoke spotted on an island in the search zone of missing AirAsia Flight 8501.

2 Cessna jets have been dispatched to the area to check for signs of possible wreckage.

Ships, planes and helicopters are scouring the waters off the Indonesia coast for the missing plane, which vanished early Sunday morning.

A U.S. Navy destroyer is also en route to the Java Sea to assist in the search.

Flight 8501 was flying from Indonesia to Singapore on Sunday when it hit bad weather and dropped off radar. There were 162 people aboard, including 16 children and one infant.
