Rev. Franklin Graham, the president and CEO of Samaritan's Purse, joined Elisabeth Hasselbeck on the Fox and Friends Christmas Special this evening to discuss Operation Christmas Child.

Graham explained that Operation Christmas Child, which is in its 22nd year, collected a total of 10.2 million shoeboxes full of gifts for children in 110 different countries this year.

"We ask people to take a box and fill it with toys for a child," Graham said. "We ask everybody that packs a box to pray for the child who will get the box."

"Can you imagine 10 million people praying for 10 million children? What God will do in the hearts and minds of these little children around the world?"

Graham said that 60,000 of the Operation Christmas Child boxes have been sent to bring comfort to refugees in Iraq and Syria. He pointed out that 70% of the refugees in the Middle East are children.

"They've lost their homes, they've lost everything that they've known or loved," Graham said. "They're afraid, they're cold, they're scared."

"When you can give a gift to them, the joy and the hope that it puts in their heart, that somebody out there loves them and hasn't forgotten them."
