GOOD NEWS Anonymous 'Layaway Angel' Buys $20,000 Worth of Toys for Strangers
An anonymous person paid off all 150 layaway accounts at a Toys "R" Us store in Bellingham, Massachusetts. The total cost? A cool $20,000.
One of the grateful recipients of this "layaway angel's" incredible generosity is single mom Emily Burlingame, who spoke to Elisabeth Hasselbeck on "Fox and Friends" this morning.
Burlingame said that she had about $250 left to pay on her Toys "R" Us account. When she went to pay the balance, she was informed that the account was already taken care of.
"At first I thought it was a mistake, so I said, 'No, I still owe a little bit more.' And [the cashier] said, 'No, the 'layaway angel' took care of it,'" Burlingame explained.
Apparently, someone had come in and taken care of all the layaways, and there was no outstanding balance due for anyone.
"It means a lot. It's an amazing thing that this person did," Burlingame said. "It's affected me. It's affected everybody that I've told. It's just a wonderful thing that they did."
