A new baby monitor and app are using smart technology in an effort to fight Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

MonBaby is a button which uses a fine motion sensor to detect breathing, movement and sleep position. Measurements are recorded five times per second and instantly sent to parents’ smartphones using Bluetooth technology.

The monitor will also alert parents if a baby has flipped from the back to stomach in an effort to decrease the chance of SIDS.

MonBaby is being manufactured now.
