Peters on Gitmo: 'You Don't Put Terrorists in a Prison & Pamper Them'
President Barack Obama has repeatedly said he wants to close Guantanamo Bay, yet new reports suggest that 20-30 freed former Guantanamo Bay detainees may be fighting with terror groups.
Lt. Col. Ralph Peters was on “Hannity” tonight, where he slammed the Obama administration.
"The administration has been more concerned about the rights of hardened terrorists than about the rights of a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. Sean, the administration will not accept the basic fact – the truth – that a dead terrorist is a corpse, but an imprisoned terrorist is a cause, and a released one is a threat,” Peters said.
Peters remarked that someone in the administration should read the Geneva Conventions or the Hague Conventions, explaining that terrorists – or unlawful combatants – can be executed on the battlefield.
"You don’t put them in prison and pamper them,” he said, adding that Guantanamo’s standard conditions are better than the conditions for American citizens in U.S. prisons.
