2 Sheriff's Deputies Killed in Violent Sacramento Crime Spree
Two sheriff’s deputies were killed and another was injured in a day of carnage in the Sacramento, Calif. area.
The violent crime spree of carjackings and shootings started at 10 a.m. local time and ended about two hours ago.
Two sheriff’s deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle, which is when two suspects fired, shooting Deputy Danny Oliver, 47, who later died.
The suspects then car-jacked a vehicle and took it 30 miles northeast of Sacramento County. Shots were fired, and two more deputies were shot. One died from his injuries, and the second is expected to survive.
A female suspect was taken into custody, while the male suspect, 34-year-old Marcelo Marquez, holed himself up in a home. He was captured around 4 p.m. local time.
