Joe Giudice, the husband of "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice, has been sentenced to 41 months in prison on fraud charges

Julie Banderas is reporting on the developments this afternoon, as we wait for the judge to hand down Teresa's sentence.

In a letter to the judge, Teresa reportedly argued for no jail time, saying her TV persona is "little more than a carefully crafted fiction, engineered by Bravo TV through scripted lines and clever editing."

She faces up to two years in prison after the couple pleaded guilty to bank and mortgage fraud. The couple admitted to hiding assets and falsifying applications for mortgages.

Banderas said that today in court, the judge refused to consider letters sent in on the reality star's behalf. She said the judge was also annoyed about discrepancies on financial forms submitted today by the couple.
