UPDATE: The lockdown was lifted after about two hours following reports of shots being fired. No injuries were reported.


Fort Carson in Colorado is on lockdown as investigators look into a "situation."

No one except law enforcement officials is currently allowed to exit the fort, which is located just south of Colorado Springs.

A spokesman at the Army base has said he cannot give any more information except that there is not an active shooter, and there was a "situation on post."
