As the legendary career of New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter winds down, souvenir foul balls off the bat of Captain Clutch are more valuable than ever, at least to most people.

On Friday, during the Yankees vs. Blue Jays game, Jeter tapped a ground ball foul along the third base line, and Blue Jays third baseman Danny Valencia tossed the ball into the stands to a lucky fan.

After catching the ball, the man handed the prize to his young daughter, who clearly didn't understand the significance of a Derek Jeter foul ball and immediately threw it back onto the field.

Luckily, the ball was recovered for the family.
