A Fox News Reporting special, hosted by Bret Baier, uncovered the smoking gun of Benghazi and offered an inside look into the harrowing and tragic 2012 attacks that killed four Americans.
“13 Hours at Benghazi: The Inside Story” is told by members of the Annex Security Team. The special is based off a new book, "13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened In Benghazi" by Mitchell Zuckoff with the Annex Security Team.
What the security contractors described as initially a “pretty routine day” became a 13-hour battle.
Five minutes after the attack on the consulate, the team said they were ready to go – but they were delayed by a top CIA officer who told them to stand down.
“We were told to wait, stand down. We were delayed three times,” security contractor and co-author Kris (“Tanto”) Paronto told Bret Baier in tonight’s special.
If the team had not been delayed, they believe things would have turned out differently.
“Ambassador Stevens and Sean [Smith], yeah, they would still be alive, my gut is yes,” Paronto said.
