Fox news chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge reported this morning that the video of the beheading of a second American journalist was not supposed to become public on Tuesday.

She confirmed that there was Twitter chatter among known ISIS users that there had been some type of error that led to the video getting out before its intended time.

Herridge also reported that the SITE Institute appears to have infiltrated ISIS somehow in order to obtain the video before it was officially released.

She added that once these videos are posted on Twitter, the account is taken down and the ISIS-linked user moves on to another handle.

The execution video showing journalist Steven Sotloff came less than two weeks after the murder of reporter James Foley.
