During a recent episode of HBO’s vampire drama “True Blood,” vampires invaded a Sen. Ted Cruz fundraiser at the George W. Bush Presidential Library, causing a bloodbath in which attendees and security guards are shot dead in front of large posters of Cruz and President George W. Bush.

Fred Thompson on Being an 'Outnumbered' Conservative in Hollywood

On today’s Outnumbered, Sandra Smith, Harris Faulkner, Andrea Tantaros, Jedidiah Bila and #oneluckyguy Arthur Aidala discussed the response Cruz posted to his Facebook page yesterday and if it was appropriate.

Tantaros said he should have ignored it to not appear petty and then pointed out that anti-gun advocates – especially celebrities and media figures – are being hypocritical by not speaking out.

Smith mentioned that this is not the first time HBO programming featured violence against a real-life political figure – a scene from “Game of Thrones” showed a severed head in the likeness of President Bush on a stake – but she agreed with Tantaros that Cruz should either ignore it or use humor to respond, as opposed to a serious social media post.

Harris took exception with a television program showing violence against a specific political party, and Aidala agreed, saying, “It was gratuitous and it was disrespectful.”
