Feinstein on Obama Fundraising: ‘World Would Respect His Increased Attention’
Republicans aren’t the only ones who have noticed that President Barack Obama has been doing a lot of fundraising amid a series of major problems, including the Malaysia Airlines tragedy and the crisis in Gaza.
When asked about Obama’s plans to attend six fundraisers over three days, Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein said, “I’m not going to tell the president what to do, but I think the world would very much respect his increased attention on this matter, and I think there ought to be increased attention.”
Megyn Kelly discussed this tonight with Democratic strategist Robert Zimmerman. She noted that Feinstein is a top Democrat, and even she is “asking for leadership.”
“That’s right, but that doesn’t mean he should abdicate his responsibilities to build his coalition and to build his majority. Let’s be serious now. He’s not just fundraising at the expense of governing,” Zimmerman said, explaining there is no question that the Senate could swing either way in the midterm elections.
