GOOD NEWS 2 Military Brothers Reunited 37 Years After Family Split Up
Two military brothers who were toddlers when their family split up have finally been reunited after 37 years!
Army Command Sgt. Maj. Raul Sierra and Army Sgt. Louis Sierra were 3 and 4 when their parents separated and broke all contact. It wasn’t until 2008 that they reconnected via social media, and several attempts to meet in person since then had failed.
This month, when Raul returned from deployment, Louis was waiting at Fort Carson to share a hug 37 years in the making.
Despite having been separated for so long, the brothers say they already trust each other.
“We have that common trust as professionals and being in this great Army and just knowing that he stands for the same thing that I stand for, I don’t have to worry about trusting him,” Raul said.
Raul and Louis hope to reunite with their other siblings soon, too.
