Krauthammer Slams IRS and Lerner's 'Pattern of Deception'
Charles Krauthammer went ‘On The Record’ to react to the latest in the IRS scandal. Federal Judge Emmet Sullivan ordered the IRS to explain under oath how it lost years of former IRS official Lois Lerner’s emails. Newly revealed documents show that in 2013, former IRS official Lois Lerner sent an email cautioning employees to watch what they write in emails.
Krauthammer said, “You see this pattern of deception and concealment on the part of Lois Lerner and the IRS consistently.”
He criticized the IRS for playing a game by not answering questions about possible targeting of conservative groups.
Greta Van Susteren called Lerner “deceitful.” She called on President Obama to push Attorney General Eric Holder to appoint a special prosecutor, and if Holder doesn’t do so, then the president should “get rid of him.”
“The absurdity of all of this is that all of this is being discovered through the Freedom of Information Act, which was never intended as a way to uncover that kind of scandal,” Krauthammer said, adding that the the administration and the IRS have shown “literally contempt for Congress.”
