Karl Rove stirred up controversy when he questioned former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s physical health.
In tonight’s Talking Points Memo, Bill O’Reilly said he thinks that the GOP should lay off Clinton for the moment. Instead, he said the Republican Party should focus on convincing American voters of two things:
1. The president’s social policies have strangled the economy and are causing the salary of workers to decline.
2. Through Obama’s policies, the United States has become a nation of grievances.
O’Reilly noted that 35 percent of Americans live in homes that receive at least one means-tested benefit.
“So, mentality is shifting away from ‘I’m gonna make it’ to ‘You’re gonna give it,'" he said.
"The Factor" host said that the GOP must make Americans realize that this entitlement mentality is strangling the economy.
O’Reilly also noted that he got a lot of backlash for saying Monday that he doesn’t blame Clinton for Benghazi since secretary of state is largely a figurehead position directed by the president. He said other people are in charge of security for individual nations.
“Hating someone - like Hillary Clinton, like President Bush the younger, like President Obama - gets you nowhere. If you want your policies to be enacted, you have to convince non-ideological folks to see it your way,” he said.
