The attorney for an Arizona woman who left her kids in a hot car spoke to Bill O’Reilly tonight about the case.

Shanesha Taylor, 35, is accused of leaving her 6-month-old and 2-year-old sons in a very hot car for 40 minutes while she went on a job interview. Supporters raised more than $100,000 online for her defense.

Attorney Benjamin Taylor said his client is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a loving mother who made a mistake, but was trying to get a better job for her kids.

“She was in dire straits; she made a mistake, a bad decision,” he said.

Taylor said the single mother wants to be reunited with her children, who have since been removed from her custody. He said the children’s father was not around at the time that this incident happened.

While O’Reilly said he feels terrible for the mother, he said, “You can’t leave a baby alone, you can’t.”
