A passenger train traveling from Paris to Limoges in France derailed on Friday, crashing into a station outside the metropolitan city. Preliminary reports from authorities indicate that at least six people were believed to have been killed and dozens more injured.

The crash occurred at the Bretigny-sur-Orge station after it is believed that the train somehow jumped the rails before colliding into the station, splitting into two parts. One part of the locomotive allegedly crashed into the train platform, where the travelers waiting to board the train were electrocuted after the collision.

Authorities say that 250 passengers were on board the train at the time of the crash, and many may still be trapped inside.

Investigators say that at this early hour it looks like the train was traveling too fast.
