In a press conference with Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan, President Obama responded to a question from a reporter asking the commander in chief whether or not he can assure the American people that no one in the White House knew about the IRS scandal before counsel found out, as well as whether or not he thought he should have learned about it before news reports began leaking.

"My main concern is fixing a problem, and we began that process yesterday by asking and accepting the resignation of the acting director there," the president said. 

However, he seemed to leave the possibility of any White House knowledge open-ended, referring only to the IG report in his response. "I can assure you that I certainly did not know anything about the IG report before the IG report had been leaked to press," he continued.
