NSA Director Keith Alexander told Fox News politics producer Chad Pergram that more information would be unveiled to the public during today's hearings on Capitol Hill on NSA surveillance and intelligence collection.

Alexander's Opening Statement: Surveillance Programs Have Thwarted Over 50 Terror Attacks Since 9/11

"We're going to reveal more information to the public about the terrorist plots that these have helped inform and how we oversee the programs and the compliance that we use for them," he told Pergram.

The hearing got underway at 10a ET, with opening remarks given by Chairman Mike Rogers (R-MI) in which he thanked Alexander for his service to the nation.

It's expected that in the hearing, the country will learn more details about a series of threats thwarted by the NSA program currently under fire for crossing the line and invading Americans' privacy in their methods of data collection.
