GOOD NEWS INSPIRATIONAL: How One Young Boy Raised $16K for Tornado Victims in Moore, Oklahoma
One family in Moore, Oklahoma likely feels they found something of a guardian angel in 11-year-old Dyllon Orthman. After seeing the devastation caused in the Oklahoma town after massive twisters tore through its streets and destroyed over 1,000 homes, Dyllon decided he wanted to make a difference. So, he got out his lawnmower and took to the streets.
In heat that sometimes topped 104 degrees, the young boy mowed 87 lawns and raised $6K for a family that he'd volunteered to help.
"Actually the one thing that was in my mind was the family that I adopted," he said.
His efforts made a mark near and far, with a company in a neighboring town adding $10K to be donated to the family in Dyllon's name.
