A suspect by the name of Nathan Louis Campbell is being held in custody on $1 million bail after police say he carried out a deadly hit-and-run in Venice Beach over the weekend. New surveillance video released Monday shows Campbell repeatedly getting in and out of his sports car to survey the scene on the busy boardwalk over several minutes before ultimately getting back behind the wheel and plowing into the crowd.

More information released Monday reveals heartbreaking details about the one woman killed in the horrifying incident. The victim, Alice Gruppioni, was reportedly in California with her husband on their honeymoon.

"[Her husband] kept screaming her name and trying to get to her, so there were a number of us who were trying to keep him in a space where he was safe and his wife could get the attention she needed," said bystander Shelly Gomez.
