A 5-year-old boy got spared major injuries after jumping off an amusement park ride in Coney Island, Brooklyn while it was moving on Wednesday night.

According to reports, the child got scared once the ride got started and attempted to get off the ride, jumping off and getting wedged between one of the cars and the tracks. He was taken out of the park on a stretcher and rushed to New York's Bellevue Hospital; fortunately, he's expected to make a full recovery

The co-owner of the ride, called the Sea Serpent, says the boy did meet the height requirement. Sea Serpent has been in operation continuously for 15 years without incident. A preliminary inspection revealed nothing was wrong with the ride.
