Guilty Verdict in Amanda Knox Retrial
An Italian court has overturned a previous not guilty verdict in the Amanda Knox trial. Knox and her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were found guilty once again in the murder of 21-year-old Meredith Kercher.
The court said Knox was living illegally in her own country. She currently lives in Washington state. Sollecito, an Italian citizen, will be stripped of his passport and other identity documents that can be used to leave Italy.
Knox and Kercher were roommates in Italy. Sollecito and Knox were convicted of sexual assault and murder in Kercher’s death in 2007. Knox spent four years in an Italian jail, until last year when she and Sollecito were found not guilty.
