Three American Civilians Killed in Afghanistan Suicide Bombing
Two American civilians are among the 21 dead following a terror attack on a restaurant in Kabul, Afghanistan. The two worked at the American University of Afghanistan, according to the school.
UPDATE, 7:05p ET: At least three Americans are said to be among the dead, including Lexie Kamerman, who worked at the university. Her aunt said in a statement on behalf of the family: “She was an amazing young woman – smart, strong, beautiful, funny, stubborn and kind. And fearless. She took the job at the American University of Afghanistan to help the young women of Afghanistan get an education and take their rightful place as leaders in Afghan society.”
At least another 19 people were killed, including three United Nations workers.
A suicide bomber set off a bomb outside the restaurant, while two gunmen snuck in the backdoor and opened fire.
Afghan police say the Taliban is responsible.
