There was a reunion this morning on Fox and Friends between the mother of an autistic child and the New Jersey businessman who inspired her viral blog post.

Shanell Mouland and her family were flying home to Canada from Disney World when Eric Kunkel sat down next to Kate, Mouland’s 3-year-old daughter who has autism.

Mouland was at first worried about how the stranger would react to her disabled daughter. She said he looked like he was busy with work and worried that Kate would disturb him.

By the end of the trip, though, Kate was calling Kunkel "daddy" (her father was in another row with the couple's other daughter) and the two were chatting about turtles and such.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck talked to Mouland this morning about the encouraging experience, and then was joined on the couch by Kunkel.

"The way he engaged our Kate - without pity, without sympathy, without speaking to her through me even though she struggles to communicate - was very special and very rare. It's just a lesson that we're so proud is being spread around the world now because that's what we want. We want people to see Kate as a little person and respect her for who she is," said Mouland.

Kunkel who was called "the man in seat 16C" in the blog post said he's been overwhelmed by the attention over what he views as "a normal day."

"They're just great, fantastic people and I'm so happy that I got to meet them," said Kunkel.
