Top FBI officials say there is no evidence to support that the IRS gave extra scrutiny to Tea Party groups.

The IRS investigated 282 conservative groups as opposed to eight liberal groups, yet the FBI says it did not find evidence to support criminal charges. However, the FBI has found big bureaucracy and some level of ineptitude within the IRS.

Judge Andrew Napolitano discussed the findings with Alisyn Camerota and Bill Hemmer on America’s News Headquarters.

“The way the law is written, the IRS is given so much leeway to investigate whoever it wants,” Napolitano said. “The culprit is the Congress because the Congress has so written the laws that any president, Democrat or Republican, can use the IRS for political purposes without committing a crime.”
