Krauthammer on Benghazi Revelations: Why Did Those Who Knew Stay Quiet?
Fox News has obtained documents that were once top secret revealing what the White House knew about the Benghazi attack and the response to it.
Congressional testimony shows top military leaders referred to it as an attack, and not a demonstration gone out of control.
Tonight on Special Report, Charles Krauthammer reacted to the latest revelations. He said the Obama administration blamed the attack on an anti-Islamic film as a way to maintain a fictional narrative, as the presidential election was approaching, that Al Qaeda was on the path to defeat. “They didn’t want this, an obvious instance of a terrorist attack on the 9/11 anniversary, to refute that story.”
Krauthammer questioned how respected people, like Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, could stay quiet while a falsehood was being touted by the White House.
