9/11 Families Win Right to Sue Saudi Arabia
The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that 9/11 victims’ families can sue Saudi Arabia. The three-judge panel reinstated Saudi Arabia as a defendant in the lawsuits.
The plaintiffs won the right to pursue their 2003 lawsuits claiming the country provided support to Al Qaeda before the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. The decision overturns previous rulings citing Saudi Arabia was protected by sovereign immunity.
