A Pennsylvania elementary school has pulled the plug on Halloween! According to the principal of Inglewood Elementary School, the holiday is “filled with religious overtones.”

One resident is speaking out about the move, saying, “I think it it’s ridiculous. I don’t think you could speak to one child in this school district and ask them what Halloween is about and would they cite any type of religious backing to that.”

The school district has gone over the principal’s head, allowing an after-school fall festival where kids can wear their costumes.

UPDATE: On America's News HQ, we learned that the school has now reversed course, explaining that regulations were misinterpreted. The students will be allowed to wear costumes and walk in a parade.
