WATCH: WWII Vets Sing "God Bless America" During Honor Flight
World War II veterans have refused to let the government shutdown stop them from visiting the War Memorial in Washington D.C. Last week, a group of veterans was turned away when they arrived at the memorial built to honor them. Several Congress members helped cut through police tape and barricades to let them in.
There was one moment caught on camera that encapsulates the patriotism of America’s greatest generation. WWII veterans from Mississippi were on an Honor Flight going back home from D.C. when they started singing a powerful rendition of “God Bless America.”
