'The Five' Takes on WH Advisor for Likening GOP to Suicide Bombers
The Five hosts took on the White House's harsh rhetoric against Republicans who are trying to defund ObamaCare.
President Obama and Press Secretary Jay Carney have used words like "extortion," "blackmail," and "extremist" to describe House Republicans. But the most extreme statement was made by White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer, who invoked suicide bombers in his criticism of Tea Party Republicans.
"What we're not for is negotiating with people with a bomb strapped to their chest," Pfeiffer said Thursday, going on to suggest that Tea Party Republicans were like arsonists.
Even Bob Beckel could not defend Pfeiffer.
"That's the kind of thing we don't need if we're trying to get something resolved. That one particularly bothered me," he said.
Andrea Tantaros observed that the White House doesn't want to defend their policies, so they've chosen to "pick crazy words to call Republicans and hope it works."
