Donald Trump applauded the leadership qualities of Russian President Vladimir Putin this morning on Fox and Friends. On the new couch with Elisabeth, Brian and Steve, he said President Obama's lack of action amid the Syria crisis has turned Putin into "the world leader."

"He has done an amazing job of showing how to lead," said Trump, adding that Bashar al-Assad is still "solidly in control."

President Obama made the argument over the weekend that Washington pundits like to grade administrations on "style" even if the policy turns out to be "disastrous," calling to mind the Iraq War. He argued that initially, the Bush administration received high marks.

Trump scoffed at the notion that the president has made the right decisions on Syria.

"The policy is worse than the style. What could be worse than our policy? We're being scoffed at, we're being laughed at, our country's going to hell. I mean, what could be worse than what's happening to this country?" he said.
