Dominic Di-Natale reported from Venice Beach where the Los Angeles Police Department has named Nathan Louis Campbell as the suspect.  The 38-year-old will be charged with murder and posted on a million dollar bail.

He allegedly drove his Dodge Avenger down the boardwalk, careering into the crowd on Saturday evening. After escaping the scene, Campbell reportedly ditched the car in Santa Monica before turning himself into police.

The woman who died has been named as Alice Gruppioni, 32, of Italy, who was on her honeymoon. One person is in critical condition. Witnesses say they have no doubt that the driver wanted to cause harm. “This guy had an intent to create mayhem and massacre a lot of people,” one man said.
