Woman's Body Found Near Where Bride-to-Be Vanished in Hudson River Crash
A woman’s body has been found but not identified in the Hudson River in New York. Police were searching for a bride-to-be and the best man in a wedding that’s supposed to take place in just two weeks.
UPDATE: July 28, 5:15p ET -- A second body has been pulled from the Hudson River. It has not been identified.
UPDATE: July, 28, 10:00a ET -- The driver of the boat has been charged with vehicular manslaughter. Police believe he may have been drunk when they crashed. The woman's body found yesterday matches the description of bride-to-be, Lindsey Stewart. The best man, Mark Lennon, is presumed to be dead.
Six people were on board a speedboat, including the groom-to-be and bride 30-year-old Lindsey Stewart, when it crashed into an anchored construction barge on Friday night. Four were taken to a local hospital with injuries. The search for 30-year-old Mark Lennon is still underway.
“It just can’t end like this,” Stewart’s mother, Carol, said in an emotional interview.
Police are still investigating the possible cause of the crash.
