Actor LeVar Burton appeared on The O’Reilly Factor to discuss comments he recently made about made about being pulled over by a cop as an African American. He explained to host Bill O’Reilly, “The difference between when you get stopped and when I get stopped is I want to make sure that time between when the officer leaves his car and approaches mine, that [the officer’s] as relaxed as possible.”

When O’Reilly asked why, he responded, “Because I live in a country and in a culture where it can sometimes be dangerous to be a young black male.”

He also reacted to the George Zimmerman murder case. No matter the verdict, Burton said the tragedy is that a young man, Trayvon Martin, lost his life.
