Prosecutors and defense attorneys are making their opening arguments today in George Zimmerman’s second-degree murder trial.

According to court observers, Zimmerman sat expressionless as prosecutor John Guy repeatedly referred to Zimmerman’s “lies” in some graphic and explosive opening remarks. Some of the female jurors appeared stunned by the rare courtroom F-bomb.

Guy said, “’F---ing punks.  These a--holes, they always get away.’ Those were the words in that man’s chest when he got out of his car armed with a fully loaded semi-automatic pistol and two flashlights to follow on foot Trayvon Benjamin Martin.”

Zimmerman's attorney, Don West, followed, telling a knock-knock joke that appeared to fall flat with the jury. He attempted to portray Zimmerman as a victim who was acting in an effort to save his own life.

"Who's there?" West said. "George Zimmerman. George Zimmerman who? Okay, good. You're on the jury."
