Victoria Toensing, Attorney Representing Benghazi Whistleblower, Alleges State Dept Cover-Up
Toensing wants an apology from the State Department for accusing her of lying.
Victoria Toensing is an attorney representing one of the Benghazi whistleblowers. Three people were identified today as the whistleblowers who will testify during Wednesday's congressional hearing on the September 11, 2012 attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
Uma Pemmaraju spoke to Toensing, who is not identifying if her client is one of the three named. Toesning is demanding an apology after State Department deputy spokesman, Patrick Ventrell, accused her of making false statements about not receiving security clearance to help her client.
“This is a cover-up,” Toensing alleged on Fox. “Why wouldn’t they ask [Secretary of State Hillary Clinton] what happened that night and how much her involvement was, and what she did or didn’t do that night? They didn’t even question her.”
Toensing said her client will be testifying, but it’s unclear whether it will be next week or at a later time. She said the whistleblowers’ testimonies will tell what happened with the security issues prior to the attack, the night of September 11, and what happened after the attack including retaliation against employees.
